It’s that powerful…your HSA -Health Savings Account

Do you know how powerful this is? That your health savings account (HSA) can now be used to find a private doctor?

As a result, do you know what this means to you? No waiting to see your primary care physician? Getting a same-day appointment?

This year, you are finally going to be able to use your HSA (Health Savings Account) to pay for your monthly fee to see your DIRECT PRIMARY CARE doctor.

These pre-tax dollars can now give you access to your personal doctor, same-day visits, a partner who cares about you, a doctor who spends time with you, a doctor who finally knows you better than anyone else.

This was signed into law in August 2019:

This incredibly important point about HSAs is buried deep in the EO: “Within 180 days of the date of this order, the Secretary of the Treasury, to the extent consistent with law, shall propose regulations to treat expenses related to certain types of arrangements, potentially including direct primary care arrangements and healthcare sharing ministries, as eligible medical expenses under section 213(d) of title 26, United States Code.”

So, we use a lot of DIRECT PRIMARY CARE DOCTORS here in FLORIDA.

ANOTHER STORYTIME!

I can see up to 50 patients a day during season. But, the ones I DON’T EVER SEE are the ones who come down for 6 months and check-in with their direct primary care physicians who know them, welcome them back and give them same-day visits…

Every SMART “snowbird”:

1) calls this doctor before they return for the winter…

2) therefore, setting up an appointment to update their doctor about any new condition or changes…

3) and then when they need something, they just call this doctor and get right in to see them…

YEP!  Consequently, snowbirds who have their own medical records never have to wait 3 hours in our clinic…

in a coughing, sneezing, flu-ridden waiting room…

because Knowledge is power…

Because now you have choices…

Because you have the right to know…

P.S. Many of these patients also use their Patient Best® Medical History Book to track all their records from their doctor up north to their doctor down here. So it’s easy-peasy for both doctor and patient to catch up on things early and streamline medical care.

About the Author

Do you feel frustrated with your medical care? Do doctors spend 5 minutes with you, push you out of the office, with you wondering what's going to happen? Does your insurance deny paying? You're not alone. I'm frustrated, too. This is a growing trend in healthcare. Having seen pre-insurance medicine (yes, my dad was an old country doctor), I grew up watching him spend time with his patients, giving them the best care he had to offer. I saw families trust him to help them through hospitalizations and the next crisis. As a patient advocate, my job is to see that you get the right diagnosis, the right treatment plans, and the right supplies and education to make good decisions about your health. More importantly, I will teach you the tricks of the healthcare trade. We need more healthcare consumer protection, especially for chronic illnesses like diabetes. This is what I am passionate about. I make it happen every day with thousands of patients who now know what I know about beating the healthcare system and getting the best patient care...Patient Best.
